Hi, I notice you recently put the {{sprotected}} tag onto the article List of Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends Songs. Putting the tag on does not in fact protect the page. Page protection can only be performed by administrators. Thanks, Gwernol 18:31, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Felix Cheng

Skarloey, your recent comment on Felix Cheng's talk page amounts to a personal attack. I realize dealing with Felix's actions can be extremely frsutrating (see my numerous interactions with him over several months), but we must all remain careful to only comment on actions, not on the person. Thanks, Gwernol 11:53, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Skarloey, it may have been a personal attack but I think you have said what a lot of us have been thinking of saying but are too polite to do so Penrithguy 17:57, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

You said exactly what I've been thinking... I'm loosing my temper with him too... don't blame you, it's not as though there was no motive behind your actions, I think he deserves someone to snap at him like that, to try and make him see outside his own mind. Foxearth (Logged Out)

[edit] Ojamajo Doremi fan series

Hi Skarloey. I could use you, Kate669, Jim522, The OldBean, RustyFanatic05, Ryan, SillyEvan and Ciremi to add dialogue to my Ojamajo Doremi fan series that I've planned out to make. No offense. Felix 14:10, 16 August 2006

How about no? Skarloey 16:01, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

I really need you and those people to add dialogue to my Ojamajo Doremi fan series. Felix 15:55, 17 August 2006

None of them probably care and none of them want to. Good day. Skarloey 12:11, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Look. The Ojamajo Doremi fan series needed dialogue from you and those people. The fan series is due to premiere as of August/September 2006.

Felix 10:50, 21 August 2006

Look, accept it, none of us want to participate, so leave us alone. Skarloey 10:45, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Why not? Felix Cheng 15:18, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Does it matter? We just don't want to be a part of it, so, if you don't mind, I'd like you to stop pestering us. Skarloey 19:08, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Okay, how am I going to add dialogue to my series then, Skarloey? Felix Cheng 14:56, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

I don't know, and I don't really care either, all that I want is for you to stop asking me things about some "series" that I want nothing to do with, is that really so difficult? Skarloey 23:25, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

No. It isn't difficult. Felix Cheng 22:43, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thomas and Friends Season 10 episodes

Hi. How did you get ahold of this information about the season 10 episodes? Was this a post on the SIF... and is there any chance of any synopsis' etc for us to add onto the page? Foxearth (logged out)

Yes, the post was on SIF, and one member has now posted images (although they are photos of his TV), visible here...

The first image is from "Follow that Flour", and the other three are from "A Smooth Ride", confirming the appearence of Sir Handel, Mr and Mrs Percival and Mighty Mac (other photos confirm Thomas and Peter Sam as featuring). Skarloey 21:31, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] SiF Question

Excuse me. Could you please answer my question? Because you're the only active Wikipedia member that I'm sure is from the SiF, and because Ryan isn't answering my emails. Why can't I register to the SiF? I do register, but they always reject my request! Is there something happening there that I don't know about? -DragonMan98 23:48, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

Could you please tell me? I need to know! -DragonMan98 00:00, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, it's not my problem, mate - the forum does belong to Ryan, afterall, he can allow who he wants to join the forum. Skarloey 18:36, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Categories

Hi, when creating new articles on railways, etc,. please give them a category or someone else has to come along and do it and it takes a lot longer for them to do it and they may miscategorize it as they are not familiar with the British lines. Thanks, -THB 01:20, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Sorry about that, mate, I made that page a fair while back, when I still hadn't fully got to grips with Wiki. A slight thing, though - the C&WJR no longer exists, so we need another category rather than "Heritage Railways in the UK". Skarloey 21:45, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] R&ER Images

Hi Skarloey. I know this isn't the right place to discuss this, but it is the only way I can be certain of getting an answer! Someone claiming to be you has deleted a chunk of the R&ER article at Train-Spotting World. The comment on the talk page claims that the photos are all copyrighted, and yet all my research shows that they were released as Public Domain. Indeed, the one I checked Image:Irt.jpg is still present in WP, despite the TSW talk page claiming otherwise.

As I am an admin at TSW, I can properly delete the image files if that is what you want, but the R&ER loco list needs to be restored.

Thoughts?

EdJogg 16:32, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

EdJogg,
It was me posting that, rather than someone claiming to be me. I didn't realise that the image files were still on Wikipedia, as I remember trying to remove them a while back. Likely an error occured when I attempted this. I will now try again to remove them. You can put the table of loco information back if you want to - I only removed it because this was another piece from the original Wikipedia page that I had created.
Skarloey 17:51, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
I just wanted to be certain what the real position was, before taking action, as the request was at odds with the licensing on the photos. As you have requested, I will delete them in due course. What happens to the remains of the TSW R&ER page rather depends on other users of that site, of which there are few at present...
As for the WP copies, it should be possible to 'Speedy' them in some way. I doubt you'd be able to delete them yourself. If you have problems, I suggest dropping a note to User:Gwernol who is both a WP admin and a rail/steam enthusiast, and I'm sure he'd help out.
EdJogg 23:25, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
Just noticed you've encountered Gwernol before! He's a good egg really... EdJogg 23:29, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, another question. I have just revisited the TSW R&ER talk page and one of the other admins there has made an extremely valid point that the licenses you used to release your pictures on WP are binding and perpetual. If an image is released as 'public domain', it is a bit difficult to claim copyright at a later date since it may already have been copied many, many times. Indeed, it may be the case that as these photos are (effectively) in the public domain, that it is not permitted to remove them from WP

So, my question is, why do you want to withdraw the licensing? As far as I can work out, the only reason to publish photos on a limited (eg non-commercial use) licence is if the photographer has an intention to (try to) make money from the photos concerned. If you do change your mind, it would be good to restore the images, as the article is poorer for their removal.

EdJogg 01:09, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Have decided against having the images removed. You are free to use them on TSW until I find some alternatives (updated photos against some which are a year old!), but I'd prefer to keep them out of the WP R&ER article. --Skarloey 16:41, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Sounds a reasonable plan. Seeing as how you are active 'over there' as well, I'll let you re-add the images (or different ones) as you see fit. I'd also encourage adding them to the new individual loco pages. Indeed, they would be better placed there than in the loco table, because the main article is quite large now.

And now I suggest any further conversation on this topic is done at TSW... :o) EdJogg 19:33, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Arlesdale Railway models?

Skarloey, you of all people are most likely to know which Arlesdale Railway characters have been produced as 'Thomas' merchandise. Various editors have added odd characters to the page from time to time, and, without any kind of reference material, I have no idea whether to believe them or not.

I know there was an Ertl model of Jock, as we have one, but I'm not certain about the rest. Any help would be welcome!

EdJogg 08:34, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

There were two Ertl models produced for Arlesdale, these being of Jock and Frank. Take-Along has so far had Mike produced while both Frank and Mike are available in the Learning Curve range.
Skarloey 21:16, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
...which is exactly what is says in the article. Thank you! EdJogg 22:16, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Typo

Please try to do spell checks on the edits you make. I noticed on two occasions you have spelt "appearance" incorrectly. You can help! Clerks. (talk) 13:44, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
