[edit] This article is a hoax
I confirm that this article is a pure hoax and a bunch of bullshit. There does not exist a noble or royal family called Skanke, in fact the Skanke family does not even exist - in Norway there are several unrelated families using that name (when your surname is Hansen, it doesn't mean all using that name belongs to the same family). There are not documented any connection to Man or elsewhere outside Norway (Robelin, p. 13). Luvente 12:31, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- Skancke is one of two Jamtlandic noble families, the other one being Blix. It's a matter of semantics whether you want to define medieval Jämtland as Norwegian or not, though. (Norway took Jämtland in 1178, but prior to that Jämtland used to be a self-governing republic, or whatever you wanna call a medieval independent nation with no king but with an elected president, or lawspeaker, in the highest rank.)
