Skate video

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A skate video is a movie about skateboarding. In most skate videos, skaters show their skills in sections called video parts, but other formats, such as montages are used, and new tricks are often demonstrated. Skate videos are usually made by skateboarding companies, but small skateshops, magazines, websites and independent skaters have made skate videos.

[edit] Influential Skate Videos

There have been many influential skate videos such as Girl Skateboards' "Yeah Right!", Lakai's "Fully Flared", Blind Skateboards' "Video Days", Plan B skateboards' "Virtual Reality" and Toy Machine's "Welcome to Hell".

[edit] Last Part

Performing the last part in a skate video is considered an honor - often skaters who have appeared in the last part of an influential skate video go on to win "Thrasher" magazine's 'Skater of The Year' Award. Examples of previous winners are: Chris Cole, Mark Appleyard and most recently Marc Johnson.
