From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Skanderborg, with a population of 13,520,[1] is a town in central Denmark just south of Aarhus. It is more or less a suburb today, located in Skanderborg municipality, Jutland. The town has two churches; one of which used to be part of Skanderborg castle, the traditional hunting retreat of Danish kings during the 12th-16th centuries.
Since 1980, a music festival has been held annually in a forest in the vicinity of Skanderborg, the Skanderborg Festival. It is known as "Denmark’s Most Beautiful Festival".
