Skala Oropou (Greek: Σκάλα Ωρωπού) is a community of Attica in Greece, on the South Gulf of Euboea, due north of Athens. Skala Oropou is linked with the road linking GR-1/E75 and Oropos down to the beach, as well as the roads to Kalamos and Malakasa. The area around Skala Oropou is surrounded by olive trees, pasture farmlands, grasslands and hills. Pine trees and mountains dominate southward; farmlands are in valley areas. The South Gulf of Euboea covers the northern edge, providing a panoramic view of the island of Euboea as well as Eretria. Skala Oropou is located N of Athens, E of GR-1/E75 (Athens - Lamia - Thessaloniki) and north of Rafina. The Asopus River flows to its west and is through Chalkoutsi. Beaches along with hotels, taverns and restaurants are along the coastline and are Skala Oropou's fame.
The town of Skála Oropoú (pop. 1,289 in 2001) is the seat of government in the community. However, its largest town is Chalkoútsi (pop. 2,082). The only other town in the community is Néa Politeía (pop. 404). The community has a land area of 12.398 km² and a total population of 3,775 inhabitants.
Businesses are the most popular industry in Skala Oropou; agriculture dominates the central part, away from its beaches. Housing developments came in the 1990s but slowly boomed.
