SK Energy GmbH is a German company manufacturing CSP plants (Concentrated Solar Power) focussing on small (1-5 MW) and medium-sized (6-30 MW) capacities. Having started in 2005 in the wind business, the company's international management and team has acquired long time experience in the international renewables business.

SK Energy aims at delivering worldwide renewable solutions tailor-made to specific market needs and customer requirements, which are both ecologically and economically sustainable.

The solar thermal system developed by SK Energy is an industry-scale system for the combined production of electricity and clean water. SKE’s solar-thermal system is based on Fresnel-collector technology: With this CSP-technology, sunlight is concentrated on an absorber, which produces heat. This heat is gained with the help of many mirrors (the collector) focusing on one line (the absorber), which is an element of a closed steam cycle.

SK Energy uses an own Fresnel-collector technology as well as a most innovative, efficient and compact new steam engine, integrating a state-of-the-art permanent magnet generator.

SKE’s solar thermal system was especially designed for dry climatic zones with strong electricity and water demand and restricted land availability.
