[edit] deleting articles in your userspace

You used a prod tag to delete User:SJLARIN/Citizenship and nationality guideline (Draft), an article in your userspace that you wrote. I deleted it for you. In the future, you can ask for such articles to be deleted using {{db-userreq}}, as items in your userspace that you wrote don't need to be checked if they are acceptable for deletion, see Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#U1. [edit] Rejected proposal

Please read my edit note. This was a routine tagging of a proposal which looked inactive, and I invited a reversion by interested parties. I have no objection to your process, just trying to clean out the accumulation of crap at the proposal page. I'm sorry that I made an error which caused you distress. Cheers! --Kevin Murray (talk) 14:30, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

I see that you are relatively new to WP. Welcome! It's great to see someone with your background joining us. Sometimes the drudgery of maintenance causes less than polite actions to people's hard work. When something is tagged as a proposal it shows up at a central page showing all proposals. Many proposals are made and go nowhere, but end up clogging the proposal page so that people interested in reviewing viable proposals are hampered. Our policy on policies and guidelines (AKA: processes) is that inactivity or lack of progress is interpreted as de facto rejection. The label "rejected" is harsh and frequently solicits dismay -- I would prefer to call it "failed", but the tag has been around for a while and requires consensus etc. to change. --Kevin Murray (talk) 14:39, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
