User talk:Sj/Survey/draft
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is certainly a comprehensive survey, and quite informal in feel, which is nice. I think, though, some questions could be left a bit more open, like for example instead of "Do stubs drive you crazy?" ask "How do you feel about stubs?". I know its subtle but the question will influence the answer and you don't want leading questions.. Also, you could make more out of some questions like in the Wikimeetup question, you could ask what people's impressions of other Wikipedians was, thereby touching on online and face to face identity, expectations, self-presentation etc. I'm one of those you mentioned who conducted a survey (small scale) and I'll try and do what you say in linking up the different efforts. m:Research needs to be consolidated also - I will do this in the next few days. As a final thought, what do you think about setting up a WikiProject in conducting research on Wikipedia? It seems that there are a number of projects ongoing and it may help to generate some reflection within the community about what it is and where it's going. I'm stepping up my own study as well - more about interpersonal dynamics and consensus-seeking discourse - feel free to direct anyone my way :) Cormaggio 01:04, 16 Mar 2005 (UTC)
