Sixgunlover Records

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sixgunlover Records is an Austin, Texas record label owned and operated by Jason Butler, releasing records by Rhythm of Black Lines, Ghosts and Vodka, Quien Es Boom, Boscoe and Jorge, and An Automotive. Sixgunlover's original moniker was Billy The Kid Records, after Butler's long standing interest in historical figures of the old west.

The label offers a series titled "Puppet Series" which focuses on the Sculpey work and design of Chicago artist Scott Shellhamer ([1]). So far the label has released two of these limited split LP records. One with Joan of Arc and Bundy K. Brown (Tortoise), the other with Pele and Rhythm of Black Lines.

Jason also created a second series focusing on well respected songwriters titled "S.C.I.V.", with the first featuring songwriter [2]. This release was a hand bound book limited to only 200 copies. Apparently this series was so labor intensive the label decided to take a break.

Hello Lovers (Austin, Texas) will release their full length CD titled "Gone With the Wind" with the label. Sixgunlover also plans to release the next installment of the Puppet Series Late 2008, early 2009.
