Six Flags Wild Safari is located in Jackson, New Jersey right next to Six Flags Great Adventure and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. The park currently covers 350 acres and the main road through the park is 4.5 miles long. It contains 11 themed sections. It is sometimes billed as the world's largest drive-through safari outside of Africa, although Oregon's 600-acre Wildlife Safari is much larger.
Wild Safari was opened to the public on July 4, 1974, along with its theme park neighbor, Great Adventure.
