Talk:Sivashankar Baba
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This article was speedied as a copyvio from: http://www.samratchana.net/about/baba/hisstory/en-us/default.asp but note the uploader's claim to have permission. It was also speedied at Siva Shankar Baba.
Re the prod and to be fair, we get more hits if we add a space: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=%22Siva+Shankar+Baba%22&btnG=Google+Search&meta= when we search Google.
But the fact is that article is ten times too long and POV and all the other things wrong with crude cut and pastes. -- RHaworth 22:41, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
- While the article suffers from serious problems regarding tone and POV, it doesn't appear to be a hoax and doesn't deserve to be deleted. I'm going to remove the tag. If anyone disputes this, feel free to take it to AfD, but I think that's unnecessary. bcasterline t 22:50, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
- I don't see how it passes WP:BIO and believe it should be deleted unless one can prove otherwise. -EdGl 23:27, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
- What about third-party articles like this? In combination with 500+ other google hits, I think that makes him satisfactorily notable. It seems like he's reached an audience of 5,000 people or more. bcasterline t 23:56, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, but I don't like how this article is just copied/pasted from another source. Even if the uploader claims to have permission. The other source should be just that -- a source -- by which one can take information from it and make a real Wikipedia article out of it. If the creater of this article gives a darn, then he/she will do this. -EdGl 00:40, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Will work on it
Hey, I do accept the fact that article is too long..I will def. work on it & try to edit in the days to come...coming to other comment,i do give a damn on th subject, as i was one of the contributors to the original article & i am not just a copy cat.The fact is that i do respect the authenticity & usefulness of Wikipedia as the best online encyclopedia. That is the reason why i thought of adding this article. Thank You —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rama1nath (talk • contribs)
- I was not accusing you of being a "copycat", I was merely pointing out that it would be better and more suitable to Wikipedia if the content wasn't the same as the origional source. Anyways I had a feeling you would care about this matter, and I am happy for you. It is excellent that you are willing to put in much time and effort to making this a better encyclopedia. -EdGl 01:19, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The Eternal power
Baba is eternal power. Noboby can judge Him. He is the one who reigns in the hearts of righteousness, truthfulness and divinity. Shankaram shiva shankaram. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 59.92.41.221 (talk) 16:24, 23 December 2006 (UTC).
