Sivasankari

Sivasankari (born October 14, 1942) is a popular Tamil writer and activist. She is one of the four Tamil writers asked by the United States Library of Congress to record their voice as part of the South Asian Literary Recordings Project. She has over 30 novels, 150 short stories, 13 travelogues and 2 biographies to her credit.
She is working on her ambitious Knit India Through Literature project whose goal according to her is "learn more about the culture, history and literature of the people of each State and introduce them to their fellow Indians through the works of a few writers selected from each of these languages". Started in 1993, the project's plan is to publish the analysis in four volumes.
She is also the founder of Awakened Group for National Integration (AGNI).
