Sivagiri is a panchayat town in Tirunelveli district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Sivagiri is located at 9.33° N 77.43° E[1]. It has an average elevation of 165 metres (541 feet). This was formerly a zamindari town.

As of 2001 India census[2] by Census Commissioner of India, Sivagiri had a population of 20,160. Males constitute 49% of the population and females 51%. Sivagiri has an average literacy rate of 57%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 68%, and female literacy is 46%. In Sivagiri, 9% of the population is under 6 years of age.
