[edit] Summary

Shivana Samudra Falls taken by User:BostonMA August 2003

Shivana Samudra Falls on the Cauvery (Kaveri) River in Karnataka has a height of 320 ft. (98 meters), a width of 2784 feet, and a maximum recorded volume of 667,000 cubic feet / sec. It is claimed by some to be the 2nd largest waterfall in India, although I'm not sure by what measure.

This picture, unfortunately, captures only part of the falls, and that during the drought of August 2003 during which the flow of the Kaveri was severely reduced.
