[edit] S-L footballers

Consider formatting them nicely and including at least one reference per article, at least to prove existence. See what I did with Aluspah Brewah - crz crztalk 23:27, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] categories

Hi Sittaconde,

A bot to find new Africa articles just started up. As the user who started Special Court for Sierra Leone, I noticed that you were tackling some articles that had been redlinked for a long time. Great work! Please add categories to articles as well. Some people browse by category, so your work is invisible to those people. Cheers, BanyanTree 16:58, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] References

Hi Sittaconde, thanks for the great work you're doing with Sierra Leone! I'm only worried that your articles tend to be unsourced, verifiability is one of the five pillars of wikipedia. So please, add to the articles you create or expand the sources from which you take your info.--Aldux 22:04, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Using text from other websites

Hello. Thanks for your recent work adding articles about Sierra Leone. Unfortunately, some of them seem to be copied from other sites, such as http://www.trial-ch.org. Because this text is copyrighted we are not allowed to use it on Wikipedia. You can use these sites to write about the topic in your own words, but please don't simply paste in their text. Thanks. --Cherry blossom tree 13:10, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sierra Leonean-Lebanese

A tag has been placed on Sierra Leonean-Lebanese, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ROGER TALK 19:10, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sierra Leone Creole People

just a note, the tag at the top of the page right now doesn't mean the page is being deleted, just that a move was performed incorrectly. You can read how a move should be performed (using the move tab) as WP:MOVE. This page was recently moved with a copy-paste (wrong way), and for various reasons, the history of the page at the old title needs to be brought to the new title. Best, Smmurphy(Talk) 21:33, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sierra Leone

Sorry, my mistake. I see now that you are trying to improve the article. Thank you. I wish you'd use the edit summary, it helps others who are working on the article by looking at the history the types of changes being made. Especially when they are considerable changes. Thanks. Again sorry. I reverted myself. - Jeeny Talk 18:14, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sierra Leone edits

I have reverted your edits because they removed a large amount of information without an edit summary of why the info was removed. If you were trying to improve the article then feel free to revert back. Thanks. --Hdt83 Chat 21:34, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright status of Government and politics of Sierra Leone

Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Government and politics of Sierra Leone. For legal reasons, we will delete copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites ("http://www.nyulawglobal.org/globalex/Sierra_Leone.htm" in this case) or from printed material.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article's talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Government and politics of Sierra Leone with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article's talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:Government and politics of Sierra Leone with a link to the details.

Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own original words to avoid any copyright infringement. Thank you. Julius Sahara 19:57, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Kissi people

A tag has been placed on Kissi people, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD g12.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Y4kk 23:00, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Final warning

You have been warned multiple times to not post copyrighted text on Wikipedia. Nevertheless, you created Mansa Kama and other articles which are copyrighted and have to be deleted. If you continue to post copyrighted contents, you will be blocked for disruption. Fram (talk) 14:37, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Block notice

And with the creation of Mammy Yoko, you just continued with the copyright violations. I have blocked you for 24 hours, in the hope that you will change your behaviour afterwards. Otherwise this will lead to much longer blocks, sadly. You seem to have contributed a lot of good stuff to Wikipedia, don't let this be ruined by copying other things near straight from websites. Fram (talk) 15:51, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for violating Wikipedia policy. If you believe this block is unjustified you may contest this block by replying here on your talk page by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}}. [edit] Ahmadu Jarr

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Ahmadu Jarr, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.ahmadujah.com/raised.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 16:49, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Ahmadu Jarr

A tag has been placed on Ahmadu Jarr requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Dawn bard (talk) 20:15, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Conflict of interest?

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Sona Tata Condé, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 18:05, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sheka Tarawallie

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Sheka Tarawallie, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Sheka Tarawallie. [edit] Random changes to population figures

I notice that you have joined a couple of anonymous users in changing population figures, presumably to communicate other information to some unknown person. If you happen to have access to genuine figures, please cite your source, otherwise, please leave the 2004 census figures which have two sources elsewhere. Thank you. Dbfirs (talk) 01:19, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Having compared your Sierra Leone population edits of 9 January just 23 hours apart, I find it difficult to see how the figures for your 2007 estimates can possibly be genuine. I suspect that you and others are using this and other Wikipedia articles for some purpose different from that of presenting genuine population figures. If you have access to real 2007 population estimates, could you please provide a citation, otherwise it is Wikipedia policy to use attestable information which is published elsewhere, such as the 2004 official figures which are published in the Sierra Leone Encyclopedia, and at several other places on the web. If you are not able to do this, or at least to assure me of your good faith, then I shall continue to replace your edits with the genuine figures from the 2004 census. Thank you. Dbfirs (talk) 10:05, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
I notice that you have been adding inconsistent and obviously false information (see map) to the article on Kabala, as you have been doing to a number of Sierra Leone articles. I have removed some of this evidently false information. If you have some special knowledge of population figures, could you please quote your source, then I will stop reverting your edits which change the population regularly, and appear to be completely out of step with known estimates. I can only conclude that your edits are made for some purpose other than those of Wikipedia. dbfirs 18:06, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you.

[edit] Notability of Hershim Mackay

A tag has been placed on Hershim Mackay requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. [edit] Population figures

I note that you have again been introducing highly suspect figures for populations (replacing 2004 census data with estimates supported only by blogs), and also that you have been falsifying distances (perhaps this was just a mistake?). Could you please find genuine data (as you did for some Sierra Leone cities) before making hasty edits. Thank you. dbfirs 09:58, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Besides unconvincingly large population increases, I note that you are changing distances between places to obviously false values (as in this edit to Moyamba [1]). Please note that Wikipedia is a place for facts, not opinions. Also, it should not be used to communicate other information which has nothing to do with the article being edited. Is there some innocent reason for your strange edits? dbfirs 16:35, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
You are again playing games with numbers. Population percentages should be stable. Please make up your mind what are the correct figures, then provide some evidence that you have not made them up, then please leave them alone. Constant changes lead us to suspect that you (and possibly your various anonymous sockpuppets or associates) are using these figures for some purpose not connected with presenting facts on Wikipedia.
