Sithalapakkam

Sithalapakkam is a quiet suburb of Chennai, India. It is located near Medavakkam. Its PIN is 600073. On one side of Sithalapakkam there is a lake, on its rear side there is a hill. Some portion of this hill is cutout for sand and stone. The hill at its bottom has a man made lake.

One can see some wild birds in Sithalapakkam. Though some buildings have erupted, most of Sithalapakkam has no tar or concrete roads. It's difficult to navigate in rainy season.

Sithalapakkam was a low profile place. The population explosion in Chennai has made it a good real estate investment. Many independent houses are popping up in this region. Due to good ground water and relatively pure air many find Sithalapaakm an attractive place to live in.But due to overdrawal of water by the mineral water companies the ground water level is receding now.

Sithalapakkam has a Amman temple located at Valluvar nagar bus stop. It is very popular place of worship for its Hindu residents and religious festivals are conducted regularly.

There is a Pilliar Kovil located in Sky Lab Avenue, its a small citadel for God Ganesha.

Sithalapakkam has a Mosque in Indra Nagar. Indra nagar has large Muslim community.
