Site Foundry
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Site Foundry [1] is a proprietary web 2.0 modular content management system designed specifically for web agencies to resell and re-brand accordingly. Site Foundry is based on four key values: flexibility, extensibility, portability and simplicity. These resulting values mean Site Foundry is used worldwide by Blue Chip companies for enterprise level websites as well as small businesses for brochure sites with a limited budget. The ownness is with the incumbent web agency and how they wish to implement Site Foundry and to what level.
Site Foundry is written in PHP and uses MySQL for its database. The templating system is designed to support XHTML and CSS in a semantically correct fashion for SEO and accessibility purposes.

[edit] History
Site Foundry was invented by Tim Southcombe in November 2005 and is now a product of IQ Development [2]. Site Foundry has matured since 2005, which was originally aimed towards the small business market. Version 1.0, despite being very easy to use, wasn't flexible enough for web agencies to implement on varied sites. Version 2.0, which was a complete re-write, introduced secure AJAX transactions and a page object model. This allowed agencies to ensure their designs from Photoshop & Illustrator were recreated pixel perfect in Site Foundry and every aspect of the site was content managed.
IQ Development continually develop Site Foundry and write bespoke modules either for single or multiple use. These bespoke modules are built to order and exacting requirements from web agencies.
