May the Force be with you.

Dear Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington/Archive/Archive03,

Thanks for voting on my RFA! I appreciate your faith in me, and was overwhelmed by the positive response to my RFA; for it shows that at least I'm doing something right. :) I've started working to improve myself already, and I hope that next time, things run better, and maybe, just maybe, one day we can bask on the shores of Admintopia together. Thanks and cheers, _-M o P-_ 12:34, Tuesday June 10, 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

I plan to expand the article a bit over the weekend. — Ravikiran 13:21, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

Re: You're message

I removed content that I submitted that was up for deletion. You were going to delete it anyway, I just beat you to the punch. Please refrain from sending me anymore messages.

darjeeling

Hi! Could you please have a quick look of Darjeeling? Please give your suggestions in the article's talk page. This is for an internal review before moving to peer review. Thanks. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 17:17, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

Ahmedabad

Hi. I think Ahmedabad is nearly ready for PR and FA. Can you take a quick look at the article and give me suggestions as to what is still needed? - Aksi_great (talk) 10:31, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

Indian Copyright Act

I'm a litte busy with map making right now. Here's another site with the copyrights: http://www.indialawinfo.com/bareacts/cpr.html. Could you do the needful? Thanks and regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 06:19, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

I cleaned up an Indian article

I just cleaned up an India-related article, but I'm not quite sure I got everything right, could you go over my edit? I had to second-guess a lot of stuff, as well as remove things I didn't think belonged there. -Obli (Talk)? 13:46, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #3

The Administrator Coaching program is a program aimed at preparing Wikipedians for Adminship or helping them understand the intricacies of Wikipedia better. Recently, changes have been made to the requirements of coachees. Please review them before requesting this service.
This would be something like the Welcoming Committee, but for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. Some might like suggestions about how to learn vandal patrol, or mentoring on taking an article to featured status, or guidance with a proposal they plan to make at the Village Pump, for example. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.
Stressbusters
The Stressbusters are a subset of Esperanza aiming to investigate the causes of stress. New eyes on the situation are always welcome!
Note from the editor
As always, MiszaBot handled this delivery. Thank you! Also, congratulations go to Pschemp, Titoxd and Freakofnurture for being elected in the last elections! An Esperanzial May to all of the readership!
  1. Posting logs of the Esperanza IRC channel are explicitly banned anywhere. Violation of this rule results in deletion and a ban from the channel.
  2. A disclaimer is going to be added to the Esperanza main page. We are humans and, as such, are imperfect.
  3. Various revisions have been made to the Code of Conduct. Please see them, as the proposal is ready to be ratified by the community and enacted. All members will members to have to re-confirm their membership after accepting the Code of Conduct.
  4. Referendums are to be held on whether terms of AC members should be lengthened and whether we should abolish votes full stop.
  5. Admin Coaching reform is agreed upon.
Signed...

Review

I would prefer that you have it peer reviewed. I prefer to add my comments there. This is not my area of expertese so I'll only list a few comments here:

  1. Table should be narrowed
  2. ... Religious Freedom Act...1998 should be unwikified
  3. History the Act --> History
  4. Headings should be made more terse
  5. 4.1 heading unnecessary
  6. This is an American-themed articles, so the spellings should reflect AE
  7. Organisation needs to be expanded.

Will review in depth once put on PR. =Nichalp «Talk»= 15:19, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure what is meant by that. I can delete the boxes if you so wish. Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 12:18, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

Your Userboxes

Hi,

I know my opinion wasn't asked, but still after seeing your querry on Nichalp's page, I felt like replying. I feel that the only userbox someone will oppose is the "This user should not be trusted" one. I don't know about {{User varied sex}}, but its no longer present so no issue (unless it was deleted because its offensive. Even I have a lot of userboxes and am a great fan of them. -Ambuj Saxena (talk) 12:22, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

Khalistan

I will do that after reading the discussion very carefully. BTW, how are you - we have not chatted for long. (Nothing related to wikipedia - I also did not reply to your e-mails, but you did a right thing, I feel so.) Please remain in touch. --Bhadani 14:30, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for voting in my RfA!

Thanks for the vote in my RfA! I appreciate the comment. The RfA didn't get consensus, but I'm glad I accepted the nomination. - Amgine 16:07, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

Reminder...

When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template.

Also, I noticed in your message (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:128.91.107.45&oldid=48605823) that you said, please do vandalise the pages. I hope you don't want that! :P Just kidding. — Ian Manka Talk to me‼ 03:03, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

Hello, how are you? To-day no one came to my talk page, and I was really feeling lonely. My comments about your message: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Khalistan&diff=52679792&oldid=52676020 --Bhadani 16:37, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

My RFA

Hi Anirudh,

Thank you for strongly supporting my RFA! Even though it did not succeed I want to heartily thank you for your faith in me & my abilities. If it weren't for you guys I probably would have never been confident enough to consider myself for the position. I will look to keep your confidence in me intact for a long time to come.

Cheers

Community Justice Newsletter

Community Justice Newsletter

Welcome
Previously, various notices regarding Community Justice have gone out to our members; though this is the first actual newsletter. This issue will contain information regarding decisions made on the first meeting, our new council, and more...!

If you wish to unsubscribe to future newsletters, please add your name to Wikipedia:Community Justice/Do Not Spam.

New Council
Following our first elections, a new council has been elected.Computerjoe and Ian13 remain as chairman and chief executive (respectively); while Eddieh, Wiki alf and Xchrisblackx are replaced as councillors by Ilyanep, Osbus and Covington. The Giant Puffin and Pureblade remain as councillors.
Member Conduct
In the last meeting, the conduct of 4 members were discussed. Ethnopunk will be put on probation, supervised by Ian13, if he/she is uncivil during this probation, he/she will be expelled from WP:CJ; the same was decided for Misza13 (voluntarily), and his probation will be supervised by Computerjoe. No action will be taken against Computerjoe.
Barnstar
The Civility Barnstar which our member's have designed has been sent to Barnstar and award proposals. We'd appreciate your feedback!

Also, we are planning to make a Community Justice barnstar to give to hard-working CJ members. If you're a budding designer, consider trying to make it, then post your proposal to WT:CJ!

Name and logo change
There has been no consensus reached regarding changing our name and/or logo neither at WT:CJ nor at WT:CJ/M/1. While suggestions are still welcome, no action will be taken at this time.
Programs
We are going to try to create programs to more actively involve our members. If you have any ideas, please drop a line at WT:CJ. We will try to work with WP:ESP on one of these programs, at some point in the future.
Thanks!
Thank you for your time. If you need anything, feel free to comment at WT:CJ or come into our IRC channel [1].

Computerjoe wishes to extend his thanks to User:Robchurch, a non-member who assisted in making {{tracker}} redundant, as well as Misza13 for his continued support and to the whole of this and the previous council.

Hi Anirudhpajji - I'm very sorry to have disappointed your expectation in me, but it had become impossible for me to compromise my principles. I don't covet adminship at all, so it wasn't a difficult decision - I simply cannot accept misrepresentation and nonsense. However, I cannot tell you how greatly joyous I feel at the enthusiastic, wonderful support you expressed for me. I don't know how hard it will be to understand that your supports means extremely a lot to me. I thank you from my heart, and please let me know if I can ever be assistance or help in anything. Rama's Arrow 21:09, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi to you too

Yes. Yesterday was a bad day. An admin just blocked me when I posted a warning on his page for making a personal attack on Samir. Then the whole thing started. Gurubrahma and Sundar had to intervene. But later that admin apologised to me, so I have decided to leave the issue behind. What about you? Why not very active these days? Exams? - Aksi_great (talk) 16:31, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

BTW. Nice change in your signature. - Aksi_great (talk) 16:31, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Yeah like the new sig too. BTW All the best for your exams. When are they finishing? --Srikeit(talk ¦ ) 16:47, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
All the best to you. Hope you do great. - Aksi_great (talk) 16:51, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for spotting it. Was half asleep when I archived my page :) --Srikeit(talk ¦ ) 16:52, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
(P.S do you want to mee on google chat. My id is srikeit at gmail dot com. )

Sukh's RFA - Thanks!

Thank you for your vote on my RfA. Unfortunately there was no consensus reached at 43 support, 18 oppose and 8 neutral. I've just found out that there is a feature in "my preferences" that forces me to use edit summaries. I've now got it enabled :) Thanks again. Sukh | ਸੁਖ | Talk 15:46, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

VandalProof 1.2 Now Available

After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Happy editing! --AmiDaniel (talk) 02:05, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank-you

I'm glad you liked the song. Here's one more verse:

The count is in, and now I join the crew who wield the mops and pails.
Thanks for your support! I pledge to serve both you and Jimbo Wales.

If you have anything you need, then please don't think to hesitate.

For I am the very model of a grateful admin designate!

Yo dude

Sorry I've taken so long to get back to you. I made a few minor changes to you article on the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998 but I couldn't think of anything else really substantial to put in there. If I think of something I will let you know. --Eastlaw 05:37, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Brazilinvasion7.png. However, you forgot to include the mandatory fair-use rationale. Without that, the image will be scheduled for deletion shortly. Please ensure that you always add a fair-use justification where required. --Yamla 14:24, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

I really appreciate the table that you have introduced instead of the image. Its very flexible and helpful.--Anshuk 06:23, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Reservation

I surely don't mind. Thank you for your answer. :) - Darwinek 12:23, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

good articles on Indian political leaders

Now that is an oxymoron ;). Frankly, I haven't looked at too many. However, both Indira Gandhi and Feroze Gandhi are in a much better shape than when I saw them before, though the tone of the former is on the sympathetic side. You may want to look at Purushottam Das Tandon who was controversial during his life time; Jaipal Reddy is ok but bland - the first was started by me and the second was merged/improved by me but I dunno what shape they are in right now. I'll give my 2 cents worth on Talk:Narendra Modi. --Gurubrahma 13:04, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

orkut table

somebody seemed to have played around your table.. it is not looking as good as it used to be. Can you check that? thx.--Anshuk 05:07, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

Regarding my RfA and Your Signature

Hey,

Two things:

  1. Where did I treat a AfD as a vote?
  2. Your signature is broken.

Thanks, Computerjoe's talk 12:52, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Diffs? Also, your signature is broke. If I have treated AfDs as votes, it was not intended - I am aware of WP:CON. Computerjoe's talk 13:01, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
RfA is a consensus gathering exercise - not a vote :P Computerjoe's talk 13:08, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Sorry about the signature. I was working on it. I have withdrawn my vote as of now. --Andy123 candy? 13:21, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Now, you understand about which we had a chat. The RfA discussion should not be brought to the talk page - that fragments the discussion, and others are deprived of the benefit of the same in forming opinion. This was one of the reasons, others are too which I shall not tell right now. --Bhadani 15:30, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Copied from User:Computerjoe 's talk page.
Hi Computerjoe. I have seen fuddlemark reminding you twice on Afd, that they are not votes. Regards. --Andy123 13:06, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
PS. Sorry about the sig. :) --Andy123 13:06, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
In that case, I will abstain from voting. Regards, --Andy123 13:07, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
We vote to derieve consensus. RfA and AfDs are completely different. --Andy123 13:12, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
I am sorry about the signature. I was working on it. ;) --Andy123 candy? 13:20, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Blnguyen's RfA

Hello Anirudh. Thank you for your support at request for adminship which ended at the overwhelming and flattering result of (160/1/0), and leaves me in a position of having to live up to a high standard of community expectation. If you need any admin assistance, feel free to ask me, and naturally, if I make any procedural mistakes, feel free to point them out and I look forward to working with you in the future, Blnguyen | Have your say!!! 06:30, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
