Talk:Sir John Gell, 1st Baronet
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Is this (or his son) the same John Gell after which the Via Gellia near Cromford is named?? Linuxlad 19:25, 11 September 2005 (UTC)
Later - most seem to agree that Phillip Gell was responsible for the road - but some sites say it was built in 1722 to transport stone, whilst others say it was built aroud 1790 to transport lead ore...
And the Gell family name itself, does this have mining connotations??Linuxlad
