Sira (group of British companies)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sira was a group of British engineering companies, based in south London, that designed test equipment and provided calibration services. It began life as the British Scientific Instrument Research Association (BSIRA) in 1918.
In February 2006 the headquarters site at South Hill, Chislehurst was sold to a property development company and in March 2006 the Sira group of companies went into voluntary administration with 70 staff made redundant. Subsequently a number of the business units have been bought by other companies.
Their competitors include Baseefa.
