Sir John Stanhope (1559 - 1611) was an English landowner.
He was the son of Sir Thomas Stanhope of Shelford in Nottinghamshire.

- Sir John Stanhope, died 29 May 1638, High Sheriff of Derbyshire[citation needed]
- Cordelia Stanhope born 1585, buried 2 October 1639, married first Sir Roger Aston of Cranford, married second Sir John Mohun of Boconnoc, 1st Lord Mohun of Okehampton
- Jane Stanhope, born 1587, died 1663 married first Sir Peter Courtenay, bart, married second Francis Annesley, 1st Viscount Valentia, died 1683/4, buried in the chancel of St. Mary's Church, Nottingham
- Lady Catherine Stanhope of Shelford, born 1610, died 1694, married 1631 to Sir Thomas Hutchinson (MP). They had three children. They were Charles Hutchinson, Stanhope Hutchinson and Isabella Hutchinson.
- Katherine Stanhope born 1593, died 1637
- Dorthy Stanhope born 1595, died 1647
