Sir John Acland, 1st Baronet (c1591 – 24 August 1647), was the son of Sir Arthur Acland and Eleanor Mallet.

He was created 1st Baronet Acland, of Columb John on 24 June 1644. On his death in 1647 he was succeeded in the baronetcy by his eldest son. He was buried at Stoke D'Abernon, Surrey.

He was Sheriff of Devon in 1641. He fought in the Civil War as a Royalist, holding out a garrison at Columb John after all others had surrendered to Parliament.

He married Elizabeth Vincent, daughter of Sir Francis Vincent, 1st Baronet and Sarah Paulet, c1635, and had issue:
- Susanna Acland, married Edward Halsall, and later John Carleton
- Sir Francis Acland, 2nd Baronet (c1636-1649)
- Sir John Acland, 3rd Baronet (c1636-1655)
- Sir Hugh Acland, 5th Baronet (c1639-1714)
- Eleanor Acland (d. c1647), married Sir John Davie, Baronet
