Sir John Acland, 1st Baronet

Sir John Acland, 1st Baronet (c159124 August 1647), was the son of Sir Arthur Acland and Eleanor Mallet.

He was created 1st Baronet Acland, of Columb John on 24 June 1644. On his death in 1647 he was succeeded in the baronetcy by his eldest son. He was buried at Stoke D'Abernon, Surrey.

He was Sheriff of Devon in 1641. He fought in the Civil War as a Royalist, holding out a garrison at Columb John after all others had surrendered to Parliament.
