Sir Graham Balfour School is a secondary school in Stafford, England. It recently achieved its specialist status in Maths and Computing.
The school is mid-sized, with approximately 900 students.
In 2004, the school raised money to build a school in Thmar Bang in Cambodia, and regular fundraising helps to support it now.
In 2006, the KS3 and GCSE results were records for the school. Boys and girls performed equally as well and all targets were exceeded. The DfEs performance tables ranked Sir Graham Balfour as the 9th most improved in England for sustained improvement over a four year period. The results for 2007 are even better than in 2006 - 65% of our Year Eleven students left with five or more A*-C grades; yet another record for Sir Graham Balfour School.
The school is housed in a state of the art, purpose built building constructed in 2002 which provides a first rate learning environment. This has been enhanced further by the new resources brought by the status as a Specialist Maths and Computing School as from September 2006.
Sir Graham Balfour School also offers post 16 education. The sixth form is an integral part of the Stafford Collegiate which involves all Stafford High Schools and Stafford College. This means that a broad and balanced curriculum choice is available.
