Sir George Agnew, 2nd Baronet

Sir George William Agnew, 2nd Baronet JP (19 January 1852 – 19 December 1941), was the son of Sir William Agnew, 1st Baronet and Mary Kenworthy.

He succeeded his father as 2nd Baronet Agnew, of Great Stanhope Street on the latter's death on 31 October 1910. On his death in 1941 he was succeeded in the baronetcy by his eldest son.

He attended Rugby School and St John's College, Cambridge.

He was a partner in the firm of Thomas Agnew & Sons, art publishers. He was Member of Parliament for West Salford, 1906–1918. He was High Sheriff of Suffolk in 1922. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 2nd Battalion, Suffolk Volunteer Regiment.

He married Fanny Bolton, daughter of John Stuart Bolton, on 2 October 1878, and had issue:

• Dorothy Agnew (d.1940), married Hinton Arthur Stewart (1906)

• Cicely Agnew, married Norman Froggatt Kingzett (1920)
• Sir John Stuart Agnew, 3rd Baronet (1879-1957)
• George Colin Agnew (b.1882)
