[edit] Explanation of Tony Sidaway's removal of "afd-cleanup" tag
The article is well referenced and reasonably well organised. Cleanup was not proposed in the discussion as far as I'm aware, and in reviewing the article I don't see anything that obviously needs cleanup. Accordingly I'm tentatively removing the tag. If other editors can see any part that needs cleanup, they have the option of restoring the cleanup tag (and adding a comment here about what needs to be done) or cleaning it up. --Tony Sidaway 00:26, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- Please include a reference from someone other than Hoey's local newspaper re America's cup. Please note that whilst AFD discussion was going on considering whether Hoey was notable there was a statement that she had won a medal at America's cup. This does not seem to be the case (but will have influenced AFD debate) if the source cited, her local newspaper is relied on. It seems to be Hoey's sister and Ms Fitzgerald. Please also include any reference that goes against the contention that the America's cup is a low level competition for developmental bob sleighers- and therefore the suggestion they won a medal at the America's cup but despite this didn't qualify for Olympics is very misleading. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.202.132.52 (talk • contribs) — 213.202.132.52 (talk • contribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic.
[edit] Deletion discussion
If you want to try again to delete the Siobhán Hoey article again, be my guest. But this article was already kept one time. It makes me wonder if you are trying to vandalize the article on the account of notability. Chris (talk) 20:31, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
What is the point of the first part of the passage above; no one needs your permission for anything- be my guest indeed: changes were made to the article whilst AFD was ongoing that tended to inflate this ladies standing too. Where is your comment re those? --194.125.71.53 (talk) 12:15, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
The article had already been placed for deletion back from March 30 to April 4, 2007 with it being discussed as keep. That was why I asking you if you wanted to go through another round of deletion. Please see WP:CIVL and WP:NPA for more discussion. Chris (talk) 21:52, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Please change the last sentence of the first paragraph of the Bobsleigh career section from "Despite their best efforts, the sisters didn't qualify for the 2006 Winter Olympics." to "Despite being eligible for the 2006 Winter Olympics, they did not qualify." Thank you. Chris (talk) 14:34, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- I notice that line has been contested a bit; any objections to this particular phrasing? – Luna Santin (talk) 02:08, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- When I raised a concern with this article to WP:AN/I about vandalism from IP users, another edit who commented on this stated that the line in the paragraph was POVing. By adjusting the line to an NPOV, that should alleveate the issue. Chris (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 02:12, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- At first glance, it looks like it might be okay, just asking if anybody has an objection before implementing. :) – Luna Santin (talk) 02:15, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

- If they didn't qualify for the Olympics; they didn't qualify- what is the distinction being made by the reference that they were eligible. To the non-sports fan who reads this article this makes very little sense. --194.125.71.53 (talk) 12:15, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
