[edit] Welcome
Hello SinisterLemon and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad you've chosen to join us. This is a great project with lots of dedicated people, which might seem intimidating at times, but don't let anything discourage you. Be bold!, explore, and contribute. Try to be civil by following simple guidelines and signing your talk comments with ~~~~ but never forget that one of our central tenets is to ignore all rules.
If you want to learn more, Wikipedia:Tutorial is the place to go, but eventually the following links might also come in handy:

Float around until you find something that tickles your fancy. One easy way to do this is to hit the random page button in the navigation bar to the left. Additionally, the Community Portal offers a more structured way to become acquainted with the many great committees and groups that focus on specific tasks. My personal favorite stomping grounds are Wikipedia:Translation into English as well as the cleanup, welcoming, and counter-vandalism committees. Finally, the Wikimedia Foundation has several other wiki projects that you might enjoy. If you have any more questions, always feel free to ask me anything on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- Draeco 21:48, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hallo
Good to see you started CSIO Spruce Meadows 'Masters' Tournament well done. I was going to start the Spruce Meadows 'Masters' Grand Prix but could not find all the information (results) on the net. I was going to email Spruce Meadows for it, they really should have a page with All the winners of their Grand Prix on their website (at one time the biggest prize in Grand Prix jumping).
Hickstead is another International Show that does not have the main classes results e.g. Hickstead Derby & Hickstead Grand Prix on their website but I found them else where (I had emailed them last year but they didn't want to know). The Hamburg Derby (the oldest Derby) didn't have the results on their site but their secretary very kindly posted the 2006 show catologue to me showing all the winners from 1920 !!
So hard to get the right show jumping info on the net. Culnacreann 17:31, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Please do not upload images in the GIF format
Hello and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you've uploaded a number of images in the GIF format. In the future, please save GIF images in the PNG format before converting (see Wikipedia:Preparing images for upload). PNG images almost always have a smaller file size, which decreases the amount of time they take to load. There are a bunch of other advantages to the PNG format such as lossless compression that you can read about on its Wikipedia article. ---Remember the dot 03:24, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] User email
Hallo SinisterLemon, Only letting you know 'Wiki' has email, if you want to use it. I knew I'd seen it some where on a 'Wiki' user's page. It's in the form of a user box --> "user email" you have to put these {{ }} brackets around it (take out the quotes) yourself because it comes up on this page if I do. This is what it says on the email page. The form below will send a single e-mail message to this user. Your e-mail address (as entered in your user preferences) will appear in the "From" header of the message so that the recipient will be able to reply directly to you - Culnacréann 14:23, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:SAC laughing DVD.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:SAC laughing DVD.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:05, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:SearsCan_logo1934x750.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:SearsCan_logo1934x750.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –Dream out loud (talk) 00:41, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Phantom Quest Corp. Perfect Collection.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Phantom Quest Corp. Perfect Collection.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 16:19, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Edmonton meetup
Hello - I'm contacting you with this message because you have listed yourself in Category:Wikipedians in Edmonton - if you are not actually in Edmonton, I apologize for bothering you; unfortunately, the sort of spamming I'm doing isn't conducive to reading everybody's userpages thoroughly. I am investigating the possibility of creating a Wikipedia meetup in Edmonton for sometime during the spring or summer of 2008. If you're interested, please visit Wikipedia:Meetup/Edmonton, add yourself to the list of interested editors, and watchlist the page. Cheers, Sarcasticidealist (talk) 23:56, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:SearsCan logo1934x750.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:SearsCan logo1934x750.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. NotifyBot (talk) 13:29, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
