Template talk:Single infobox request

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Template:Single infobox request is permanently protected from editing, as it is a heavily used or visible template.

Substantial changes should be proposed here, and made by administrators if the proposal is uncontroversial, or has been discussed and is supported by consensus. Use editprotected to attract the attention of an administrator in such cases.
This template does not have a documentation subpage. If the template page contains categories, interwiki links or usage notes, move these to Template:Single infobox request/doc. If the template does not require documentation, add |doc=no to this template (permprot).

This seems to fairly clearly be a template directed at editors, rather than readers. As such it should go on the talk page. I have reformatted the template to the talk page standard, and begun moving it. - SimonP 15:45, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

editprotected Could it be included on the template that it should go on talk pages? I find it often still placed on the actual article page. Garion96 (talk) 12:52, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

The code to fulfil this request is check talk. --ais523 16:33, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
Done. Proto:: 19:03, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Generic infobox

Is there a generic infobox request template available (i.e. an equivalent to reqphoto?) --Aarktica 19:27, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

 • There appears to be a template which fits the bill — infoboxneeded. --Aarktica 19:43, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Move to ambox

editprotected

Could the page please be edited to:

check talk <includeonly>{}</includeonly><noinclude> ---- This template places the article in :Category:Articles in need of Song Infoboxes. </noinclude>

Thanks. — Coren (talk) 18:47, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. — Coren (talk) 20:02, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
Um... why was this done? This template goes on talk pages. Should of been left brown. - Rocket000 00:49, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Hmm. Error? I don't mind a revert; this stems from a misuderstanding about which list of templates to modify to use— although I've got the feeling the talk space boxes will eventually be revisited (but perhaps not with the same color/style scheme). — Coren (talk) 01:28, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
In my defense, however, there was no indication that this template was talk-space only. — Coren (talk) 01:28, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
That it used the formally selected talk page template scheme and contained the code "messagebox standard-talk" were fairly good indications. —David Levy 01:59, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
It's ok, Coren. If the talk namespace (or any other namespace) templates get a make-over (they're already standardize somewhat with the color scheme) I hope something totally different from ambox is used , so it's obvious where to place the template based on just how it looks. - Rocket000 05:59, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Template placement vs. article placement (as in a category)

I was wondering if it was at all possible to make this template, when placed on a talk page, put the article itself (not the talk page) into Category:Articles in need of Song Infoboxes.

If not then where it says "This template places the article in Category:Articles in need of Song Infoboxes." it should say "This template places the article's talk page in Category:Articles in need of Song Infoboxes." - Rocket000 06:15, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Req: Fix confusing wording

editprotected

There is an Infobox Single and an Infobox Song, which this template confuses. Please change:

A Song Infobox has been requested for this article. Please format it according to the guidelines.

to:

An Infobox Single, Infobox Song or Infobox Standard has been requested for this article. Please format it according to the guidelines.

--PEJL 19:41, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

I've changed the request to add , Infobox Song or Infobox Standard, because the template is currently used for lots of non-single songs. It is misnamed for that purpose, but this is at least an improvement. --PEJL 07:46, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
I made the change, with slightly different wording. I also fixed the table syntax while I was there. — Carl (CBM · talk) 01:27, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
