Sue and Frank, Second Sino-Japanese War is the better name as we don't need to worry about the starting year in the title. The issue can be dealt within the article. BTW Google search on that title yield exact description of the conflict. -- KT2

I had started out calling it the Second Sino-Japanese War, but someone else changed it to use the dates, which I took to be a common practice.

I agree that Sue's clarifications in the article are worthwhile, and I hope to harvest a bunch of material off the web to flesh out the article. Frank Warmerdam

You will find a lot since the War has been the major research field in modern Chinese, Koeran and Japanese history. Just be careful on how different people naming it: Sino-Japanese War, Second Sino-Japanese War, Sino-Japanese Conflict, Japanese aggreesion or invasion of China, to name a few.-- KT2
