Sino Swearingen SJ30-2

The Sino Swearingen SJ30 (referred to as "SJ30-2" in official documents but generally shortened to "SJ30") is a business jet built by the Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corporation in San Antonio, Texas. It was certified by the FAA in 2006 and the first customer delivery took place in early 2007. The SJ30 is in the "light" jet class, and has the fastest cruise speeds and longest range of any aircraft in that class.^[1] The aircraft can seat up to six passengers plus one pilot. A unique feature of this aircraft is that it maintains a Sea Level Cabin up to 41,000 ft (due to its 12 psi differential pressure) thereby reducing some of the effects of jet lag on long journeys.

The first customer aircraft was delivered to Mr Doug Jaffe of San Antonio, Texas, who was one of the original founders of the company, and is the "J" in SJ30 (the "S" is obviously Swearingen). The second customer aircraft was delivered in late 2007 to Hamish Harding, the Chairman of Action Aviation which is Sino Swearingen's largest distributor.

Sino Swearingen is currently poised for takeover in the coming weeks by investors from Dubai. The Dubai-based company will become the majority shareholder in Sino Swearingen, with the Taiwanese government and private investors taking minority stakes.

The orderbook for the $7.5 million aircraft has remained largely unaffected by the funding setbacks, with the tally exceeding 300 units including 159 from Action Aviation.
