The Sinhala Maha Sabha (Sinhalese Great Assembly) was a political party in Sri Lanka (Ceylon at the time) founded by Solomon West Ridgeway Dias Bandaranaike in 1934-35, in order to promote Sinhalese culture and community interests. Backing the United National Party from 1946, it left the UNP with Bandaranaike in 1951 to form the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
