Singla Tea Garden is a census town in Darjeeling district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Singla Tea Garden is a tea-estate within the urban agglomeration of Darjeeling. The area under tea plantation is 4.37 km² while the gross area is 8.92 km².

As of 2001 India census[1], Singla Tea Garden had a population of 1633. Males constitute 49% of the population and females 51%. Singla Tea Garden has an average literacy rate of 75%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 84%, and female literacy is 66%. In Singla Tea Garden, 8% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Singla Tea Estate

The Singla Tea Estate which is now owned by Jayshree Tea is divide into 2 division and further divided in 23 unit. There are two types of worker one is permanent and other is temporary ( beegawala) who are employed during rainy season only.
History
There were 17 nos of sarder ( contractor) who were initially given the job of leading the work force when the Tea Garden was started. These 17 sardars also built 17 villages. For instance, Gora dhura was named such as it was under the Goray Sarder.
The electrification of the villages in the TE was done only three years back.
The people of the villages are known for their dedication and hard work.
