Sinem Doğu

Sinem Doğu (October 26, 1987, Ankara) is a Turkish female ice hockey player and trainer. Currently, she is captain of the newly established Turkish national women's ice hockey team.[1] At 1.65 metres (5.4 ft) and 58 kilograms (130 lb), Sinem is member of the women's team of Başkent Yıldızları Ice Hockey Club in Ankara. She plays in the right wing position shooting left.[2] As of ongoing 2007-2008 season, she ranks at 7th position of the most goal scorers in the Turkish Ice Hockey Women's League - Group B.[3]

After having successfully completed an assistant trainer course of the Turkish Ice Hockey Federation (TBHF),[4] she attended in July 2007 Women's International Ice Hockey Federation's Development Camp in Finland as a trainer.[5]

Sinem is member of a sportspeople family. She is the granddaughter of the legendary sport wrestler and Olympic gold medalist Yaşar Doğu.[6] Her father is professor at Abant Izzet Baysal University in Bolu Province and director of Vocational School of Physical Training and Sports at the same university.[7] Sinem is currently studying at Hacettepe University in Ankara.[8]
