Sindian City, historically spelled Hsintien (Wade-Giles) and spelled Xindian (Hanyu Pinyin) on signs in Taipei City and on the Taipei Rapid Transit System, is a city in the southern part of Taipei County, Republic of China. Sindian is the Tongyong Pinyin spelling of the city's name. Sindian is one of the satellite cities around Taipei, with a very high percentage of its population commuting to Taipei.
