Sincik

Sincik is a remote district of Adıyaman Province of Turkey. Population 3,000.
Sincik is a poor and remote rural community beyond the town of Kahta. It is reached by a single-track road across the Roman bridge of Cendere, over high passes and between rocky outcrops. There are views of Mount Nemrut from the road.
This is the lowest-income district of Adıyaman and one of the lowest in Turkey. The village was established as a district capital as the journey to the nearest town, Kahta, was too arduous, especially in winter when the road is often closed and the town cut off. Now Sincik is a district there is a post-office and other public amenities year-round.
