Sinate is a New Zealand death / thrash metal band. Their debut album Beyond Human released on the September 27, 2005. Beyond Human was recorded in just 11 days at York St Studios. The band had previously gone under the name Desecrator.
The band disbanded when Sam Sheppard joined 8 Foot Sativa. Later Matt Sheppard also joined 8 Foot Sativa. However in June 2005, Matt and Sam Sheppard left 8 Foot Sativa to reform Sinate. Joining them would be 8 Foot Sativa guitar technician Sean Parkinson, and former Reprobate member, Antony "The Colonel" Folwell.
Since the release of their debut album, Sinate has risen to become one of New Zealand's top metal bands alongside 8 Foot Sativa and Ulcerate.[citation needed] In January 2007, Sinate played the annual Big Day out festival, with 44,000 in attendance.
