SMJK Sin Min (新民国民型中学) (Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan Sin Min) is a government Chinese school. It is located at Sungai Petani, Kedah, Malaysia. The school won the Anugerah Sekolah Harapan Negara in the city secondary schools category of the whole Malaysia in 2006.

[edit] SmartCard SMJK Sin Min

SMJK Sin Min is famous for the SmartCard Program. It comes in handy if students lost their pocket money or when faced with threats from strangers. Its functions are similar to the Touch 'n Go Card. The SmartCard also serves as a prepaid card allowing students to top up money in the card. Not only every student own a SmartCard, even teachers and staffs also own one. A student SmartCard contains information such as student's name, photograph and other personal details like examination marks and disciplinary points. It benefits in many ways:

  1. As a name tag of the user.
  2. Using SmartCard in purchasing foods and stationery in school.
  3. Taking attendance.
  4. Borrowing books from the library using SmartCard.
  5. Records of user saved in SmartCard.

Menjadikan SMJK Sin Min sebuah sekolah yang bertaraf antarabangsa dan terkenal di seluruh dunia menjelang tahun 2010. (Literal translation: to make Sin Min Secondary School an international and famous school by the year of 2010.)
