[edit] Jimi Tenor
A tag has been placed on Jimi Tenor, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be a biographical account about a person, group of people, or band, but it does not indicate how or why he/she/they is/are notable. If you can indicate why Jimi Tenor is really notable, I advise you to edit the article promptly, and also put a note on Talk:Jimi Tenor. Any admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. You might also want to read our general biography criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that admins should wait a while for you to assert his/her/their notability, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page, and then immediately add such an assertion. It is also a very good idea to add citations from reliable sources to ensure that your article will be verifiable. ais523 12:42, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
I don't know how different the guidelines/rules are on the German Wikipedia, so here's the en template, and I hope you feel welcomed here! Mak (talk) 18:00, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WP:AN/I report
I've only just noticed that you have reported me on WP:AN/I. It would be helpful if in the future you warned users when reporting them on lists like WP:AN/I and WP:RFC. I'm happy to dismiss this whole matter as a mixup (see WP:AGF and WP:BITE). My only previous encounter with you appears to be a notability-based speedy deletion, and accompanying warning. As a third user was able to confirm notability, the deletion was cancelled. You should take into account the fact that there are large numbers of articles created about unimportant bands/popular music performers every day; most of these are quickly deleted. In future, if you are creating an article about a notable performer/band (such as Jimi Tenor), it helps if the initial edit explains why they should be considered sufficiently important to remain in Wikipedia. ais523 13:44, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
- In Wikipedia there are enough users working positively and it worked for more then 5 years without people telling them how to do. In my eyes you should not longer remain in Wikipedia. -- Simplicius 07:58, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re Blaeu on Commons
Hi Simplicius,
- ...I just wanted to let you know that I added some more maps in Blaeu. Yet, the country categories for old maps are not specified but the rest of the tagging seems to be ok.
Thanks for your message. I've recently begun visiting the Commons again, after a few months away; the old maps is where I think I'll resume sorting! Yours, David Kernow (talk) 11:06, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Earthworks (archaeology)
I note that you have put a link on the talk page to another article. Unfortunately, I don't speak German. Perhaps if there is something suitable in the German article, you could translate and add it. Rjm at sleepers 12:16, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I can try. It was a pleasure to use this nice pic.
- The German article is about barriers that were built for defense in early centuries - and in Germany in the middle ages to give whole districts a firm boarder.
- In the moment I try to translate a bit of Grim's Ditch and Bokerley Dyke into German. -- Simplicius 13:14, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] oof
Time for a break. I'll apologize to that ed. DGG 00:04, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Lengthy defensive earthworks
I'm not aware of any English word specifically describing a lengthy earthwork. Offa's dyke, Hadrian's wall, Grim's ditch; these are all used for specific features. But I'm not an archaeologist or miltary historian. Rjm at sleepers 06:14, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image tagging for Image:Image-Thereisalight.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Image-Thereisalight.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:09, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
- This pic had a wrong name.
- What sense does a licence request make if there is a speedy delete request already?

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Thereisalight.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Thereisalight.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 07:13, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Hooton 3 Car
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Hooton 3 Car, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Hooton 3 Car seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Hooton 3 Car, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 15:00, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
- Deletion review is at Wikipedia:Deletion review. But that may not be necessary -- if this band has been recognized as notable (see WP:BAND) by reliable independent sources, then add those sources and feel free to repost the article. NawlinWiki (talk) 03:06, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
-
- How to repost: just post the article again. The title isn't protected. NawlinWiki (talk) 13:09, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

-
- I've posted the deleted text to your userspace at User:Simplicius/Hooton 3 Car. Again, please don't repost to the main article space unless you add the sources you mentioned. NawlinWiki (talk) 13:13, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

-
- You're welcome. The exact reasons for the deletion are that the article didn't assert that the band was notable per WP:BAND, and was not supported by reliable independent sources (or, in fact, any sources). NawlinWiki (talk) 12:53, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:John Peel's Record Box.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:John Peel's Record Box.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 13:07, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
- Done. License tags. Simplicius (talk) 13:42, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:The Pig's Big 78s.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:The Pig's Big 78s.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page.
