A tag has been placed on Corrections.com, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Angel Of Sadness T/C 15:28, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Corrections.com

Hi, it’s a good idea to add messages to the bottom of a talk page, or it is easily overlooked. I deleted your recent article for a number of reasons:

  1. It did not provide independent verifiable sources that it meets the notability guidelines.
  2. It is written like an advertisement, not a neutral encyclopaedia article. Examples include unsourced puffs like Today, Corrections.com is the most recognizable brand online for the global corrections community and By building a place where professionals live, learn and lend, Corrections.com continues to serve a valuable role in the professionalism and growth of this important and challenging industry.
  3. It also reads as if it's taken from a website, although I didn’t check that. If it is, make sure that the site says that the text is public domain, or it might also be deleted as a copyright violation.
  4. A very minor but irritating bit As a nationally recognized – there is more than one nation in the world.

No problem, the main points are neutral POV and good references. If you want me to have a look before you recreate (entirely up to you) put the text here and let me know. I've no connection with law enforcement, just a Wikipedia policeman (: Jimfbleak. Talk to me.14:59, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
