Talk:Simulink
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Over in the National Instruments page it says that, due to a court ruling, Mathworks is no longer allowed to ship Simulink. From the NI article, at National_Instruments#2000s:
For the next several years NI argued in court that the Mathworks had infringed on four NI patents, as their Simulink software was very similar to LabVIEW. A jury found that all four patents, U.S. Patent Nos. 4,901,221; 4,914,568; 5,301,336; and 5,291,587, were valid, and that the first three were illegally infringed upon.[6] After several appeals, the case was finally resolved in 2004, when a federal judge barred The Mathworks, Inc. from manufacturing and shipping their Simulink products.
Does anyone know if this is still true? I just downloaded the newest version of Matlab this morning, and it appears that I was able to download an updated version of Simulink as well.
