[edit] WP:VG assessment

Hello, this post is in response to a request for assessment at the video game wikiproject. The article has already been rated start, I've rated it low importance. Here's a few suggestions:

  • Rename the production heading 'development'.
  • The article needs a gameplay section.
  • The box image ideally would be at 256px, but the image quality isn't so hot, so perhaps it would render it fuzzy - can a slightly better quality image be found?
  • Try not to be too casual, for instance "The sarcastic attitude and cruel humour that Simon the Sorcerer is famous for carries through in this instalment, perhaps bringing it up a level again from Simon 2." isn't neutral ("is famous for") and contains a personal judgement ("perhaps"), which is in itself a weasel word.
  • The massive list of returning characters says nothing to those unfamiliar with the games (IE the target audience), try to explain the plot in more detail and trim that list of characters.
  • The first line of plot is cited to a gamerankings page and stipulates that X resulted in Y (outdated graphics = poor reception), the gamerankings page doesn't assert this, it just lists scores. An actual review needs to be cited to that statement, and perhaps a change to "X reviewer stated that..", instead of an interpratation of all reviews being put forward.
  • "A group of fans...." Warning bells. If this project isn't covered in reliable sources then it shouldn't be hitching a ride in this article, cite or remove please.
  • The cite web format is being used, but details like publisher and author are missing from the review as separate items (currently the source's title is being used as a catch-all box).

Article's a great start, thanks for your work. Someoneanother 23:31, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] WP:AG Assesment

Someone another above deffinently summarises my assesment on the article, references are crucial to the quality of an article an unbiased and non opionated source needs to be used on all articles in wikipedia to stop misleading information. The article definently needs a gameplay section to add more infromation on the game. The characters may be needed in a seperate section to the plot and the plot should explain the story rather then characters.

i rated the article a start class as it definently is a start, however it is unimportant in terms of adventure games, continue to work on this article it has the potential to be great.--Abb401 (talk) 13:27, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
