Talk:Simcha Zorin

[edit] Use of Belorussia rather than Belarus
Since Zorin's activities took place during WWII, I recommend the use of Belorussia, the name during that period of his region of operations, rather than Belarus. The latter name came into use in 1991 upon the republic's establishing its independence from the USSR. Deborahjay 11:38, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] No need for Bielski here; "War crimes" material unsupported
The allegations of war crimes seems to be taken from material in the Bielski partisans article and has no support here. Therefore I'm deleting it as well as the superfluous mention of the Bielskis. Anyone deciding to add it back, please provide references. -- Deborahjay 10:33, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- Both Zorin and Bielski's participated in Naliboki. I think only ZOrin participated in Koniuchy.
- The issue is almost non-existent in works of main Polish historians. That's why most of it came from Polonia pages, some of it are, how to say it, slightly exxagerated, especially as some of the authors seem to think history is a duel in who was bigger criminalist...
- Again, I once again recommend the reading of the following article -it's about general situation in the region and mentions Koniuchy only briefly, but I think you have missed it when i posted it previously:

- BTW, I will translate the fragments about Zorin's "weddings" with local peasant girls and how they were perceived by local population, as soon as I will again find the book where I read that. And I wish I could find more info about "harem" of Bielski...
