Simosuchus clarki

Simosuchus ("Pug-nosed crocodile") is an extinct genus of small crocodylomorph from the Late Cretaceous of Madagascar. It is named so for its unusually short skull. Fully grown individuals would have been about 1 meter in length. The type species is S. clarki.

The teeth of S. clarki' were shaped like cloves (maple leaves), which coupled with its short and deep snout, made it unsuitable for carnivory. In fact, these features have lead palaeontologists to believe it was a terrestrial omnivore.
