Simon Stead (born 25 April 1982 Sheffield, England)[1] is an international Speedway rider. Simon currently rides for the Coventry Bees in the British Elite League, Masarna in the Swedish League and for Bydgoszcz in the Polish League.

Simon started his career at local track Sheffield Tigers before riding for Buxton Hitmen, Peterborough Panthers and Workington Comets. Simon signed for Belle Vue prior to the start of the 2005 season and had three seasons with the Aces. In those three seasons he has progressed from a reserve to a heat leader. For the 2008 season Simon has agreed to ride for the Coventry Bees on a loan basis.

So far in his career Simon has been British Under-21 Champion champion three times and won the 2006 Elite League Pairs Champion along with then team mate Jason Crump. He also won the Premier League Pairs Championship with Carl Stonehewer in 2003. Simon was given the wildcard spot for the 2006 British Speedway Grand Prix and scored 3 points from 5 rides. Simon was also chosen to represent Great Britain in the 2005, 2006 and 2007 Speedway World Cup
