Simon Spender (born November 15, 1985 in Flintshire, Wales) is a Welsh professional footballer, who plays at right back and currently plays for Wrexham. Spender is also a former Wales U-21 player.[1][2]

Spender came up through the youth system at Wrexham[3] and made his debut in a 0–0 draw with Plymouth in March 2004.[4] He made six appearances in the 2003–04 season, impressing in a 2–1 win over Luton Town.[5] He made 19 appearances in the 2004–05 season and was rewarded with his first professional contract in May 2005.[6] Spender made a further 21 appearances in the 2005–06 season[7] and was given a new contract in summer of 2006.[8] He established himself as the first-choice right-back and by the end of the 2007–08 season had made over 100 appearances for Wrexham.[9]
