Simon Shepherd (born 20 August 1956 in Bristol, England) is a British actor

He went to school at Clifton College in Bristol and drama school at Manchester Polytechnic.

He well known to TV audiences from many appearances,including Dr Will Preston in five series of ITV's Peak Practice. He has also had many notable stage and film roles since 1980. In the 1980s, he was often featured in television adverts for British Airways, taking the role of a (smug) 1980s-style yuppie.

In 2001 Shepherd guest starred as himself on the BBC comedy Gimme Gimme Gimme in episode Down and Out in Kentish town.

He married the costume designer Alexandra Byrne in 1980. They have four children.

He supports several charities, especially those involving the well-being of children (Barnardo's, Tearfund and Save the Children).
