Simon Lacey

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Simon Lacey (born March 9, 1975) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler.

Lacey's first class career lasted three years, playing for Derbyshire, and his off-spin bowling, though unspectacular, was certainly functional. When he played against Hampshire in August 2000, his best bowling and best batting figures were to arrive in the same match, one of only two half-century innings of his career, along with his best bowling figures, arrived in the same match.

Having debuted in the Second XI Championship in 1992, he made his first appearance for the first-class team five years later, though, as Derbyshire finished bottom of the County Championship Division One table of 2000, the end of Lacey's cricketing career was to follow. Most recently Lacey has starred in the Derbyshire Premier League for Chesterfield.
