Simon Alexander Brown (born 18 September 1983 in Wednesbury, England) is an English professional footballer who plays for Wrexham as a striker. He previously played for Mansfield Town for whom he scored a hat-trick in 14 minutes in November 2007, the fastest hat-trick in the history of the club.

Brown began his career at West Bromwich Albion but did not play a single game for the first team.[1] He joined Kidderminster Harriers on loan in March 2004, where he impressed on his debut in a 1–1 draw against Lincoln City.[2] He returned to West Bromwich Albion in May 2004, having scored twice in eight appearances.[1] He went to Kidderminster on loan for a second time in July 2004[3] and made 14 appearances before breaking a bone in his leg in October 2004.[4][5] He made one more appearance for Kidderminster in the following month[4] and then joined Mansfield Town in December 2004 on an 18-month contract for an initital fee of £50,000[6] and made 21 appearances in the remainder of the 2004–05 season for Mansfield, scoring two goals.[4]
Brown had a fine 2005–06 season and was Mansfield's second leading scorer behind Richie Barker with twelve goals[7] before his season was ended by a hernia operation in April 2006.[8] He was offered a new contract in July 2006[9] and made 40 appearances in the 2006–07 season, scoring five goals.[10] He was offered a further contract in May 2007[11] and in November 2007, scored a hat-trick in 14 minutes,[12] the fastest in the club's history, as Mansfield beat Macclesfield Town 5–0,[13] which earned him a place in the Football League Two team of the week.[14] After Mansfield Town were relegated to the Conference National at the end of the 2007–08 season, he was released by the club.[15] Brown had made over 120 appearances in all competitions for Mansfield.[1] He joined Blue Square Premier side Wrexham in June 2008.[16]
