In 1983, Simon Bob Sinister founded the Ugly Americans in Durham, North Carolina, along with Danny Hooligan, Chris Eubank and Dan Adams. Adams soon left and was replaced by Jon McLain. This punk band's musical influences were diverse. After releasing, The Dream Turns Sour, Who's Been Sleeping in My Bed and Philadelphia Freedom, the band broke up. In 1986, Simon Bob Sinister then joined the already established, Corrosion of Conformity, releasing the EP Technocracy.
