Simo Matavulj
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Simo Matavulj (1852-1908) was a Serbian novelist, representative of lyric Realism, especially in short prose.
Originally from Šibenik in Dalmatia, Austria (today Croatia), he travelled in Italy and France (he lived in Paris for a short while) before he was married to a rich heiress from Belgrade, Serbia, which enabled him to write without worry about finances, as his highly refined work was usually preferred by classically educated readers, rather than general public.
He died in Belgrade.
