Simhapuri Express

Simhapuri Express(Telugu:-సింహపురి ఎక్స్ ప్రెస్) (Hindi:-सिम्हपुरि एक्स प्रेस) or Simhapuri Super Fast Express is operated by South Central Railways of Indian Railways between Secunderabad('సికిందరాబాద్') <=> Gudur( గూడూరు'), A town in Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh. The train is introduced in 2006 Railway budget of [India]]. The train was initially commissioned to Vijayawada but later extended to Gudur and named as Simhapuri Express. Train is operated by Secunderabad Division of S.C.R.

[edit] Origin of Name
Simhapuri is the old name of present day Nellore city. Some times the same city referred to as Vikrama Simhapuram. The city was founded by Raja Vikrama Simha of Chola Dynasty.
The train is operated on daily basis and is not only popular but also very important as it contributes maximum in the reduction of heavy rush.

(Some times, the train is spotted with WAP4 Lallaguda-SCR loco shed as well).

"2709 Simhapuri Express" on returning to Secunderabad, moves to Mumbai as Devagiri Express as '7058 Secunderabad - Mumbai Devagiri Express'.
While '7057 Devagiri Express' from Mumbai to Secunderabad becomes '2710 Simhapuri Express' and moves to Gudur Junction.
Devagiri Express runs from Secunderabad via Nizamabad,Nanded,Jalna, Aurangabad, Manmad and Nasik.
